Thanks for finding me! My name is Cyrus. Passion for photography has been a part of me since the acquisition of my first camera. A middle school art teacher's kindness resulted in his donating to me a used Minolta X-570 SLR when I was in 6th grade. I thank him for that because without him, I may not have realized my potential and nurtured the seed that has become CyDigital and now, in 2017, Grey Street Images. Life creates constant distractions and side trips that have steered me away from photographing the world around me but I have always come back. I capture people, emotions, feelings... with the lens of my camera. When I initially began to take photos I wanted to photograph "things"… Things are great but they don't have the emotions, the facial expressions, the uniqueness that people do. The best photos are of people being people, having fun, living their lives. Posed photos don't represent the real you. I like to photograph people in more of a photojournalistic style; real, natural, clean, modern. Capturing the emotion, love, happiness, that is inherently within you. I will try to bring that out in you. The end result... amazing images that truly capture your moment. From a child smiling, to the love that a couple has for each other, or the wisdom of a grandparent. Through trial and error I found that I love to photograph people and their real life moments and I hope you will trust me to photograph yours as well.
When I'm not taking photographs I work a rotating schedule as a career firefighter/paramedic, a job that I have done since 2001. I have greatly varied interests including motorcycles, gardening, camping as well as the outdoors in general, and I am one of the few that still reads actual books, even thought my son makes this difficult sometimes. I try to lead a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise both mental and physical. I Live in Sun Prairie, WIsconsin with my wife Andrea and son Maxwell.
